What is Involved in a Denture Procedure?

The whole process of getting dentures usually requires several appointments, spread over several weeks. Dentists first take highly accurate impressions (molds) and measurements of your mouth, which are then used to create your custom denture. Several “try-in” appointments may be necessary to ensure proper shape, color, and fit. At the final appointment, your dentist will precisely adjust and place the completed denture in your mouth, ensuring a natural fit. Dentures may feel a bit awkward at first, but you will quickly get used to them. With proper care, your dentures can last for many years.
